Resolved Question: Is it dangerous to fall asleep in a zero degree sleeping bag in warm weather?

Today we purchased 2 new zero degree Fahrenheit sleeping bags. Our house temperature is around 68 degrees at night. My wife laid one of the bags on the bed and crawled in to test it out and fell asleep. When I found her a couple hours later she was drenched, but sleeping soundly. The bag was zipped down half way when she was sleeping, but wow she was warm.

Is this dangerous. I wanted to be able to camp all year where temps get into the 20's at night in winter and high 60's at night in the summer. Is venting the zipper or bringing a lighter blanket to cover up with enough, or did I make a mistake buying this bag. We were trying to avoid the shivers when it gets cold at night. I hate being cold when I camp.
